1224 Squadron currently has an active band that takes part in many high profile local, regional and national events.

Taking part in the band is purely optional but many cadets do choose to participate.

Cadets can choose to play a variety of instruments such as:

The Snare drum, Tenor drum, Bass drum, Bell lyre, Trumpet, Cornet, Clarinet, Saxophone, Flute and many more...

For those musicians who who promise, there are opportunities to play with the National Marching and National Concert bands of the Air Cadet Organisation.

For less formal functions the Band has an ensemble that uses guitars/bass guitars and a drum kit in addition to the instruments mentioned abov

The band has received high praise in the, local area and has even gone on to compete at higher levels. In 2011 the Squadron's ensemble placed first nationally. In addition they place 2nd in both 2009 and 2013 at the same competition.

The Band is also the main form of entertainment at the Squadrons annual dinner and has won the Squadron much acclaim from the guests.
